25 Aug Depart Atlanta in morning, arrive in New Orleans, Louisianna. These are old stomping grounds for me and I reminace about Crash and the crazy times in 92.(485 miles)  

26 Aug Depart New Orleans in morning, arrive in Austin ,Texas. We eat at one of the thousands of Mexican restuarants there. We end up sending the Margaritas back (500 miles)  

27Aug Depart Austin and drive to the Guadalupe Mountains in the NE region of Texas. It remains one of the most significant and extensive limestone fossil reefs in the world. It began forming some 250 million years ago. We camp for the night.(425 miles)

28 Aug Leave the Guadalupe mountains and drive to El Paso, Texas. cross the border into Ciudad Juarez, Mexico. In the afternoon we travel to Tuscon , Arizona and spend the night. Make arrangements to meet with Steve Roach on Sunday. Steve Roach continues to be one of the formidable synthesists in the United States.

29Aug Meet with Steve Roach at his studio and interview him. He proves to be a man filled with wisdom Leave feeling a sence of meeting a very special artist. Camp at Catalina State Park, north of Tuscon.

Drive North to Sedona and witness some of the most beautiful lands in this country. Decide to camp out but are hit by a fierce rain and hail storm . End up driving North to Flagstaff and spend the night in a Motel.

Wake up at 5am and drive back to Sedona to film to morning sunrise. The sun does not repect our wishes. Travel further north to Bryce Canyon and camp out for the night. This is the first cold night out.

Depart San Francisco for Napa Valley, induldge in the surroundings . Visit Kendell Jackson Vineyards, travel north towards Eureka, camp in the Redwood Forests.

Depart Eureka at noon and drive towards Crescent City. It is 54 degrees outside and visibility is bad. Crossing into Oregan we travel East , forty miles later the temperature is forty degrees warmer. The Smith River weaves it's way through the mountains. Clean and beautiful. finally find a motel at nine that evening north of a small town called Lakeview.(360 miles).

An uncomfortable night s sleep in Yellowstone. Who knew that winter sets in around the beginning of September here? After spending several hours driving through the park, stopping to film the natural beauty and wildlife, depart at 3pm, braced for a drive through the night towards Chicago.
