(DAC '99) brought an international field of artists, new media
practitioners, scientists and theorists together at the beginning
of the month.

Fragola, Film Professor at University of North Carolina,
and subsequently Charity has been invited to serve as a judge
at the upcoming Film Festival in March 2000.

to Atlanta someday.

Msimang Berton (South Africa) finishes her new album, ITSHE,
which is slated for an early Y2K release. In this 'fete des
hybrides multiculturelle' Aura's sultry voice is accompanied
by a euro - african blend of traditional and pop rhythms and
was produced by Jean-Paul
Dispaux (Belgium).

Hockersmith's new short experimental epic and directorial
debut, POSTMODERN REVELATIONS,
screened at MediaHead on Monday November 1. The place was packed
and it was received very well. Written and performed by Ian
Fuller, Wes Kennemore and Alex Omli; produced by Elise Vullo;
cinematography by EricG; edited by Yuri Gitman; sound engineering
by Paul Jorgensen.

Room in Atlanta Georgia.

- LIBERATED
VOICES: Contemporary Art from South Africa
is on exhibit at the Museum for African Art in New York City
from 17 September 1999 through 2 January 2000. This cogitative collection
of works from thirteen of South Africa's young contemporary artists
offers an intimate, if not chafing, diary of personal histories and
cultural truths. Exhibiting artists include Bridget
Baker, David Koloane, and Sue
Williamson
